BRID WALDRON

Brid holds a BSc. in Podiatric Medicine from Durham University. Her podiatry career started in 1984 when she graduated with a Diploma in Surgical Chiropody. Furthering her studies in 1986 to obtain a Certificate in Cryotheraphy. leading her to become an associate member of the Institute of Chiropodist and Podiatrists, completing Licentiate Examinations with the Institute in 1994.
In 1995 Brid was awarded The Sam Cohen Trophy in recognition of the highest marks gained in Licentiate Examinations. Brid also holds Diploma in Chiropodial Medicine with the Institute of Chiropodists and Podiatrists and achieved Certificate in local analgesia and skin surgery at St. Jame’s hospital i with consultant anaesthetist Beaumont Hospital February 2003. Brid enjoys keeping her knowledge refreshed attending regular CPD Events with her daughter Saoirse.

Brid established the clinic in Baggot Street Community Hospital December 2003, which then moved 10 years later to it’s present home at Mespil House, where she has remained on the HSE Chiropody panel providing Chiropody services to patients who are eligible for chiropody cards.
Brid is also in attendance as the Private Podiatrist for St. Vincents Private Hospital St. Vincents University Hospital and Caritas Convalescent Home.

SAOIRSE WALDRON

Saoirse graduated from Plymouth University with B.Sc. (Hons) in Podiatry, holding certificates in the administration of local analgesia and prescription only medication.

Saoirse has carried out further professional development in the following areas; Wound Management, Podo-Paediatrics and Gait Analysis and Biomechanics.

Since graduating she has also completed further study in Joint Mobilisation, Ankle Mobilisation, Soft tissue Mobilisation, as well as the application of Acupuncture and Dry Needling. Along side this completing Postgraduate Studies at University of Ulster focusing on Biomechanics and Gait analysis along with specialist prescription orthotics.

Currently, she is undertaking a 3 year part-time Masters in Foot and Ankle Surgery, which will provide further expertise treating more complicated injuries.While at University in the U.K, Saoirse has experience in all areas of Podiatry having worked with patients in an NHS Primary Care Centers across the South West of England, including The National Hospital For Rheumatic Diseases in Bath, assessing the lower limb complications of arthritis focusing on Ankylosing Spondylitis. The Sports Department at Cirencester NHS and the Paediatric Department in Plymouth NHS.
